Why Your Website Traffic is Going Down

Now more than ever people are using the power of digital search to find what the want, need and plan to spend money on.  Smartphones, laptops, tablets, smart tvs and even gaming consoles are loaded with search programs that fundamentally use the same signals to send the user to the info they are requesting.

So it stands to reason that if your website is not being found by your potential clientele then you are doing something wrong. If your website traffic is going down from where it used to be then it is more accurate to say that you are not doing something right!

This fabulous infographic from our friends at Brafton highlight 2 very important principles for websites in 2014.

1) Content is King.  It simply can’t be over-said – you are either producing engaging content or your are not winning the search game.

2) Social Media counts more than ever.  Your brand simply must be embedded in social media in a relavant way.

I know what your thinking – isn’t SEO all about backlinks? Well, these days the answer is a simple no.  Google and other ranking engines are smart enough to do much more than just count up links.  In fact the forecast for paid links is awful (see below.)

The strategy for paying for online marketing is to pay for someone who can help you produce and embed content into optimized social media accounts.  The great thing is that it is a 2 for 1!  Not only do you benefit from traffic from social media, it also is the #1 way to boost your search rankings.
